Tsimane, The Bolivian Jungle

From August 10-21, 2009 we will be on location in Bolivia's Isiboro Secure National Park, with our friends at Untamed Angling. While the Ibera Marsh has always been on our "to do" list, I'm not going to lie, the Tsimane sounds even sweeter. This river system hold BIG fish in a remote setting (these rivers were only discovered a year ago by non Indians). On top of all that, this is a clearwater fishery, so the majority of these big nasties are taken sight casting 6-12 inch flies.

Aside from the Golden Dorado, there will be big Amazonian Pacu, and Yatorana. Between you and me, I've never heard of Yatorana, so I guess that will be something to look forward to... maybe. While the fishing has been billed as fantastic, the scenery is on par as well. We will be in the heart of Jaguar Country and surrounded by a jungle that is also home to wild Macaws, howler monkeys, and some of the most magnificent butterflies on the planet.

There will be multiple Cesna flights, rides in dug out canoes, and no cell phones, internet, or contact with the outside world. This is a Castaway Style trip! For more information on this brand new fishery click here to find out more.
