Fishing the Glades with Captain Ned Small

Many thanks to Captain Ned Small of SightFish.com for a good couple of days on the water. Unfortunately we were on the wrong end of a passing cold front, so the fishing wasn't all that it could have been. Even still we enjoyed the tug of a couple nice Reds, Snook, and a few other incidental species. Ned has a great operation and is an excellent guide.

Having never been to the 'Glades in the past, the highlight of the trip (for me) was the National Park. I've fished mangroves for over a decade, so I'd must admit that it was rather unsettling when familiar environs were filled with unfamiliar creatures. Seeing 15 foot lizards sunning themselves on the banks as I fished for Snook was downright chilling. I guess it is obvious why folks don't wade around here. Next year we'll have to head to the glades in early April for a shot at some serious Silver!
