May 2009 find you and your families' well.
The end of the year always seems to be the perfect time for reflection and a retrograde look at life. Where did 2008 go? The first part of the year found us fighting daily to educate the public about the dicey ongoing in Bristol Bay. Suffice it to say, we are not big fans of the Pebble Project. In fact, we done radio shows, given guest lectures, and written articles so that our voice may be heard.
Working hand in hand with Van Gytenbeek and the Federation of Fly Fishers, we joined forces with Gary Borger, Gary Loomis, Simms, Targus, Smith Optics, Rio, Abel, David Vanacore Productions, and Wild on the Fly to bring you Equilibrium. In a word it was gratifying to watch a project over two years in the making get out to anglers across the globe. Our film has toured with AEG Media's 2008 Fly Fishing Film Tour and is NOW AVAILABLE on DVD.
Aside from the Film Tour, Equilibrium also played at numerous venues like the Fly Fishing Show, Sportsmen's Expositions, and throughout Alaska. Thanks to Sportsman's Alliance for Alaska, The Renewable Resources Coalition, and Bristol Bay Sportfishing for your support. Through this project we have met and worked with many, many great people. Thanks to all who continue to fight for one of the world's great places!
While Bristol Bay was the highlight of the year, we had a blast working with Wild on the Fly Magazine, American Angler, Western Outdoor News, etc.. Many of our photos are available for editorial and sponsor use. As well, we offer as enlarged prints and artistic canvases for interested anglers. Please shoot us an eMail (info@castawayfilms.com) for more details!
Again, best to you and yours this 2009,
The Castaway Films Crew
